Automotive technology testing between two TRC employees

A Magnet for the World’s Foremost Automotive Technology Innovators

By The Beta District

TRC Inc. continues to expand its influence as a source for testing the latest advancements in transportation.

These are exciting times for Transportation Research Center Inc., located within the Beta District in East Liberty, Ohio. Despite long months of COVID-19 challenges and uncertainties, the company continues to build on its reputation as a magnet for the world’s foremost auto tech innovators. In fact, over the past fiscal year – which spanned the peak of pandemic disruptions – TRC has attracted more than 20 new clients to their already robust roster of manufacturing and technology leaders.

This growth has opened a number of new positions at TRC, which they’re working to fill with the best and brightest talent in the field. Most important for TRC – the most comprehensive automotive testing facility in North America – is that a growing number of their clients are coming to The Beta District to advance their autonomous-driving technologies. Examples of this include:

A star attraction for these and other innovators is TRC’s new SMARTCenter, a 540-acre complex (two-thirds the size of Central Park!) that’s been specifically designed to test advanced driving systems that employ autonomous and connected vehicles, smart highways, sensors and other innovations to make driving safer. And, of course, the SMARTCenter and the full 4,500-acre TRC research campus sit at the front door of the U.S. 33 Smart Mobility Corridor, which crosses 35 miles of The Beta District with a high-capacity fiber optic network and state-of-the-art sensors to instantaneously link researchers and traffic monitors with data from the roadway and wirelessly connected vehicles.

Add to these capabilities TRC’s dedicated team of expert engineers, test drivers and technical specialists and it’s no wonder leaders in transformative transportation technologies come to TRC and The Beta District to help solve complex problems, shape the future of transportation and make the world a safer place.
