Living Labs in the Beta District

Living labs are exciting spaces for open and user-driven innovation where technology and the real world meet. In living labs, anything is possible — such as roads and intersections that are outfitted with fiber and data transmitting technology, healthcare leaders and technology leaders working together to solve public health challenges, or even fiberhoods across a variety of communities.

These labs are what make The Beta District unlike any other innovation region in the U.S. The only limit is your imagination.

Featured Labs

33 Smart Mobility Corridor

A public smart highway globally recognized as a proving ground for connected vehicles and smart transportation.

Transportation Research Center

The largest independent closed-access vehicle testing center and course in the Americas.

Connected Marysville

29 smart signals throughout the city allow for amazing testing opportunities.

Connected Dublin

Technology and mobility join forces to create unique ways to reimagine the transportation infrastructure.

FlyOhio US Route 33 Traffic Monitoring

The state is partnering with The Ohio State University and others on a three-year research project along the 33 Smart Mobility Corridor to develop the low-altitude air traffic management system needed to ensure unmanned aircraft can be operated safely. This will allow state government to better use unmanned aircraft for its own purposes, such as for traffic management, and will eventually allow the state to enable the private sector to begin deploying drones for numerous commercial uses.

More Labs Coming Online Soon

We’re in beta, too. New labs are coming online routinely. Check back often for updates.
