Its official name is “NW 33 Innovation Corridor Council of Governments”, but everyone calls it the COG for short.

The COG has been in existence for several years, but the question is often asked “What does the COG do?”

The COG is a syndicate/conglomerate/consortium comprised of four governmental entities – Dublin, Marysville, Union County and the Marysville-Union County Port Authority – which have banded together to best take advantage of what is now being touted as the Beta District, the U.S. Route 33 “smart corridor” that runs from Columbus to the TRC in East Liberty. The COG was thus formed several years ago with this mission and after a sputtering start because of the pandemic, is back in action.

The COG had the infrastructure – fiber lines, utilities, roads, water – and as of Wednesday has a plan of action in place on how best the four member governments can take advantage of the Beta District and the potential it brings, a plan that was submitted when COG met in the Marysville City Council Chambers Wednesday afternoon.

Marysville City Manager Terry Emery talks about the COG and its mission.
