The 2024 Central Ohio PRism Awards recognized The Beta District and MurphyEpson for their strategic public relations campaign for "Mobility in Color," a collaborative initiative  focused on connecting minority business leaders with investment opportunities along the U.S. 33 Smart Mobility Corridor.

The campaign secured a feature placement on 10TV's Face the State, a program known for its business and economic news content. The program aired on June 25, 2023, and featured an interview between host Tracy Townsend and Mobility in Color leaders Doug McCollough and Dr. Elizabeth Joy.

The interview covered Mobility in Color’s mission, which emphasizes equity, inclusion, and the positive economic impact of investing in minority-owned businesses.

The conversation aimed to educate a broader audience about Mobility in Color, while aligning with Juneteenth coverage and raising awareness before Black Business Month in August 2023. The feature placement on Face the State facilitated the development of relationships between the initiative leaders and potential investors, ultimately promoting the economic advancement of minority-owned businesses in the Columbus Region.

Following the broadcast, there was a significant increase in social media and website interactions for The Beta District, a clear indication of heightened brand awareness. 10TV and Tracy Townsend have expressed interest in covering the Mobility in Color’s progress in 2024.
