City of Marysville adds $110 million investment to The Beta District
Marysville City Council has approved a highly-anticipated $110 million redevelopment project to transform 17 acres of empty land into a vibrant, mixed-use community in Marysville and The Beta District.
“You’re taking 17 acres of blighted brownfield land and bringing it back to life,” Marysville/Union County Economic Development Director Eric Phillips told The Columbus Dispatch. “Overall, that is a huge win for the city going forward.”
This initiative, called The Silos @ Water & Light (Water and Light District), is expected to generate a combined $401 million in new payroll for the city.
Located just north of downtown Marysville, the project will blend new construction with the revitalization of existing structures, including:
- 220+ multi-family housing units
- 25,000 square feet of corporate housing
- 15,000 square feet of co-working space
- 26,000 square feet of food, beverage and event space
- Relocation of the historic Streng Road Bridge in collaboration with the Union County Engineer
Located in the heart of The Beta District, this project will further foster innovation by attracting talent, businesses and investment. The development supports a dynamic environment where professionals and entrepreneurs can live, work and collaborate. With its addition of modern co-working spaces, hospitality offerings and proximity to thriving Uptown businesses, the Water and Light District will fuel economic momentum that aligns with The Beta District’s mission to drive technology and provide vibrant living spaces for this generation’s workforce.
The Water and Light District underscores The Beta District’s commitment to creating spaces that inspire innovation and economic progress, setting the stage for continued success across the region.
Construction is anticipated to begin by mid-to-late-2025 and be completed by 2027.
